Pros
Helping customers create designs for their home can be fun and intrinsically rewarding if interior design is something that interests you. A lot of down time on the job. No cap on how much money you can earn through commission. Good sales experience for recent college graduates as an entry-level opportunity. Great employee discount and excellent benefits (medical, dental, eye, 401K)
Cons
Work long hours, on your feet all day. Work EVERY weekend with one day off during the week, and you are lucky to get your one day off if you work in a low-traffic store because management pressures you to work extra hours to make sales quotas. Balancing your work and personal life is near impossible. If you don't make your quota, you owe the company money (if you work in a low-traffic store this is VERY common, and it is difficult to make any commission when you constantly owe the company. Expect to make minimum wage from your base salary and no commission in a low traffic store). There is a high turnover rate at The Tile Shop because of the long hours and minimal pay.
