Pros

This is a fastpaced workplace with an internationally recognised premium brandname in the financial industry. It's great if your newly graduated student however you will not want to stay there for too long. If you have the energy to go after something people will usually support you. The words "You own your career" are especially true at Thomson Reuters so use your time here wisely to perfect the profile you want to have and then move on to somewhere else before the culture gets to you.

Cons

There is a lack of direction from top management, or, it does not dripple down to the level where it is implemented. Different fractions of the company have contradicting views of direction which results in internal turf-wars. These drawbacks of the company tend to increase with your seniority. In a senior sales position the majority of your time negotiating a deal will be making sense of internal pricelists, CRM systems and trying to understand competing fractions of the company. Many sales experts/product owners are actually more interested in meeting with the customers and just talking rather than selling.

Pros

Good pay, good managers, and minimal micromanagement

Cons

Not great 401k or health insurance options for contractors, but that's par for the course

Pros

Plenty of wonderful benefits and the most competitive parental leave I have found in the US job market

Cons

Depending on the organization you work within, you could be working for leadership that expects sales reps to smooth over and fix every single mistake that is made. A lot of these mistakes are because they haven't yet recovered from acquiring new companies and they haven't absorbed CRMs and data correctly. There are many different teams to work with to get the simplest projects done. It feels like the companies values are really in place because they expect the employees to take responsibility for their lack of systems in place supporting them.
