Pros
Iconic brand name, the benefits package. Pay is above average if you had spent a number of years working for the company. The products are uniquely designed. Generous discounts for employees.
Cons
IT management has changed recently and has ruined the once great culture. Long time employees are not respected and often passed over by people hired from the outside that are less qualified. The IT Department is extremely top heavy, with a number of managers that do not have any direct reports. On the management level they reward incompetence. Just because someone has been with the company for 30 years does not mean they are capable of being a manager. The company is slow to react to technology changes and rely too heavily on IBM and outsourced consultants. They deploy faulty code into production and then management blames everyone but themselves. In certain departments you are required to take off hour on call shifts with no compensation. Career development is nonexistent.
