Pros
Impressive name to be associated with. Relatively good benefits. Decent employee discount. Solid paid job training. Acquired foundational skills transfer to many other positions, companies, or even interpersonal relationships. Continued efforts to green company implemented at many levels, both visible and invisible to public.
Cons
Traditional company values add to the company's enduring legacy while others stagnate. The conservative company culture is repressive with many outdated or misguided rules. HR appears frequently unwilling or unable to assist employees. Inadequate career development or guidance from superiors or HR. Management seem to strive to impress each other instead of fostering employee achievement. Individual efforts and contributions are infrequently recognized appropriately. Management micromanages and motivates with fear rather than rewarding good performance. Education, experience, tenure, talent, merit, and ambition seem to play no role in advancement while the same few get promotion after award.
