Pros
Provides stable employment. The company is in a growth phase. Great location. There are people here who care and would like to make positive changes. They just need a culture where it can happen!
Cons
Last year the company earned a "windfall" (10 times the expected profit for the year) due to unusual circumstances in the market and hard work from the employees to shift priorities to meet market demand. This huge profit is not being shared with employees nor is it being used to improve systems used in the day to day business. Employees are not treated with respect. There is an atmosphere of fear and finger pointing. From what I understand this culture is handed down from the CEO. Lack of flexibility. Employees are often expected to work overtime. Flexible schedules and/or comp. time is not allowed. Part-time positions aren't allowed. Working from home is rarely allowed- only for a select few and typically only after you've worked your normal workday. No employee recognition program. Wages are below average for the work performed and the company size.
