Pros
I was an administrative assistant for a busy sales professional - Tight-knit, family like environment (your experience will vary) - Flexible hours - Close to home (obviously not the case for everyone) - Comfortable option for part-time work. - Good entry level experience that will be valued by other employers when its time to move on. - The sales professionals work with some of the most influential business leaders in the city. They can be a valuable resource for networking if you're in good standing.
Cons
- Experience will largely depend on the competence and aptitude of the sales professional. Its a team effort. There were times I wasn't give enough or accurate information for task and help isn't always readily available. If your sales professional is chaotic and disorganized you will not be able to do your job effectively and it becomes a vicious cycle. - Limited growth potential. - Some days can be dull. - Training is learning as you go along. Unfortunately, the time to learn is usually when something goes wrong or when a task is needed immediately and you're not prepared. - The company culture can feel like Amway or Primerica. Too much focus on gaining as many clients as they can and pushing products they don't need.
