Pros
The best leaders- management that cares about my personal growth and individual goals. Leaders who are patient, understanding, encouraging, extremely generous, and team players. My leaders were willing to admit when they made mistakes, they listened as I fought my fears, they were available and they served me and my needs before their own. The best co-workers and work environment- we had the most supportive and loving office, we were a family. Everyone helped each other fight for their goals and aspirations inside the office and in each others' personal lives. We really selected candidates that could benefit from and add value to our office culture. The most positive and energetic, but also professional work environment that I had ever been in. No limits- you get what you put into the job. There is no ceiling or a long wait for promotions. It's simple, you work hard, you get recognized for it- lots of bonuses, sales incentives, incentive trips, etc. Professionalism- the company spends a lot of time and effort into treating their employees well. Tom James takes good care of its employees and everything has a formal process and remains professional. Employees are taken care of during the bi-annual conferences and other special training programs. Training- one of the most smoothly run sales training program ever. Well structured, time tested, personalized to each person's strength and weaknesses. The company spends a lot of money investing into each employee, and this is evident in the amount of planning and resources that is required in developing and carrying out each individualized training plans.
Cons
- because this job is 100% self driven, as much as there are external motivations and incentives, without a clear vision or long term commitment, this job will only remain a job and not a career - the company remains profitable by being sensible about its spendings, the office space may be more similar to a start up company, simple and striped down to the essentials - the company still operates within the fashion industry, this job will require new employees to make an investment in his/her professional wardrobe. Once you go custom, even as just a sales person, you can't go back.
