This company is stuck in an older era, where making 85 phone calls a day (the expectation) will lead you to a fruitful life. It is a very small percentage of people who last longer than 3 years due to the fact that after the (admit-ably decent training) you can go elsewhere and make so much more money, inclusive of a base pay. You are expected to schlep around the city hauling people’s clothing in all of the elements, only to get stood up 50% of the time. Clothing is rarely if ever people’s priority of the day so you’re always on the back burner. Once you do establish a book of business you are essentially forced into hiring (babysitting) a new person right out of college who takes up all of your time, then they will quit if you don’t quit first. Then it’s a massive rinse and repeat cycle. Tens of thousands of people have started a career at Tom James but their sales force has never been more than 600. Do not buy into their long term wealth building strategy of buying their stock. You’re better off investing elsewhere. They recently decreased the per unit pay which was already a joke for how much work you have to put in.
