Pros

The pros to this job are gaining skills. Working at a high traffic, high volume Tory Burch Outlet I learned quickly how to multitask, think quickly, and smile while doing so. The people I met during my time there were all so incredible, we all considered each other family. This job is not for the shy seller... Tory Burch herself is outgoing and friendly as well as energetic, so a lot of her company values and policies come from her energy.

Cons

Managers down your throats all the time "Who are you talking to? What are they looking for? Where are they from? What is their name?" are spewed at you every few minutes. Store could get so slow that only 4 people will walk through in an hour, yet 4 sales associates, a cashier, and a leader would all be on the floor at once and would practically lunge at these poor customers. Selling tactics that they teach you are usefull, however if they catch you saying the same phrases frequently they will "touch base" with you and say you're doing it wrong... even though it's what they taught you. There is strict enforcement of a separation between support associates and sales associates. We were not allowed to go into the back room for any reason but to use the bathroom on shipment days. The support team supervisor was very strict and would literally force you out of the backroom and then immediately tell a leader if you were back there for any reason. The management watches you very closely, and the track sales numbers every single day. If you are underperforming for a specific amount of time you get put on corrective action, even if it's your first couple months. Management brushed off sales associate concerns of two specific associates abusing discounts and reselling just because they were the two best sellers in the store and wanted to keep them at that store. Lots of miscommunication and mixed signals, each manager has different expectations and are not always on the same page.

Pros

• Strong brand recognition and a loyal customer base. • Employee discount and sample sales are excellent perks. • Talented and hardworking teams across many functions.

Cons

• Work-life balance is extremely challenging, particularly at the leadership level. Long hours and constant availability are often expected rather than the exception. • The culture can feel transactional and driven by a "got you" mentality rather than collaboration, coaching, and development. • Favoritism and nepotism are noticeable and can create inconsistent standards across teams and individuals. • Leadership accountability is lacking. Expectations are often high, but accountability is not always applied equally across the organization. • Decision-making can feel political, with perception carrying more weight than actual performance or results. • There is a significant gap between the company's external messaging and the internal employee experience. While the brand publicly champions women and female empowerment, many employees may find that the internal culture does not consistently reflect those values in practice. • Transparency, integrity, and trust can be lacking, which contributes to an environment where employees may feel unsupported or undervalued.
