Pros

Young and energetic colleagues Beer drop Fridays Steady paycheck (although only 35k)

Cons

First off, most of the 5-star ratings are by recruiters employed by TQL. Any reviews with "unlimited earning potential, have to make a lot of calls but nothing in life is easy!!" Or any sort of cliche statements are obvious signs of trying to boost the ratings/reviews. 1. You will never leave your desk unless you need to grab a quick lunch which will be micromanaged. 2. When you are trying to call trucks or clients it is hard to hear because everyone is shouting and talking around you. This isn't your average office setting their are no boundaries between each person and is set up like a trade floor. 3. Even as a koolaid drinker, chances are you will only make the 35k for the rest of your time at TQL since you fight a deep draw system while also having customers not pay before the time they need to in order for YOU to get paid. 4. Pyramid structure where new brokers are assigned under established brokers and make them money. After that, they start their own accounts with unrealistic goals each week where you will be fired if not reached. TQL doesn't mind firing you because they will give your existing clients away to the established brokers and also it sets a precedence that if you don't call harder you'll end up like John Doe here. 5. Work 6 days/week including holidays when your first start off. Vacation days are a joke amount when compared to the rest of the industry. People would literally give staredowns at people leaving at 5pm so expect 12+ hour days. 6. None of the work or knowledge you gain will be valuable in your time outside working hours or after you inevitably get let go. All you do is learn their software and find shippers trucks. Another annoying component is that when you prospect these shippers to gain their business they will look down on you because they get so many calls per day that your just another paper in the stack. 7. Hard to build your value to prospects, why should they pay more to use you? TQL will tell you that their single point of contact is the value but the truth is many companies do this. It gets to the point where you only gain business by trying to beg for it or just make small talk in the hopes they feel sorry. 8. You are on a leash for 6 months maintaining other LAE's accounts and this can cause problems if you do not work well together. It also causes burnout by the end for some people Overall, if you wanted to get job that increased your sales experience for your resume OR are needing some quick money to pay the rent, this could be a great temporary for you. But don't expect to have long term growth with the company.

Pros

Frat House environment if that's what you're into.

Cons

Where do I even start.... My first week there the sales manager, whose account I was supposed to look over and be trained by, was gone for the whole week. The desk spot they put me at was next to this JBL party box, making it virtually impossible to communicate over the phone. When you're in the training phase you literally do all the work for the account manager, then you're expected to make cold calls to people that want no part in TQL. When you do get someone on the phone and make a sale, you wont be seeing any of that money. They have a commission draw set up where you have to be making a certain amount of revenue before you can make commission- thus leaving you to the measly 43k salary. These recruiters and managers SELL you a false dream, the turnover rate there is astronomical for a reason. They will hire anyone that'll learn the system, use them for labor for 6 months, cut them when they don't meet the ridiculous KPI metrics. To be actually successful here you either have to work near 60+ hours a week for YEARS waking at 4am to "snipe" accounts that have been released due to inactivity, or be handed an account by a retiring SR level manager. RUN from this company!
