Pros

The residents! They are truly amazing. And most people there are doing good, selfless work. It is a job that you can go home at the end of the night and feel like you made a difference.

Cons

Management - they have 1 focus and 1 focus only; keeping their census up at each community. Managers do not listen to their employees unless what they have to say falls under this topic. Each ED is given a very wide berth to run their community as they see fit. Because of this, there was a lot of unprofessionalism at the community I worked at. The ED violated policies that are in the employee manual on a daily basis, including the nepotism policy. Upper management at corporate doesn't care about this or doesn't know.

Pros

They were willing to be flexible with my scheduling especially since I was in nursing school at the time. I worked in memory care and my direct manager was understanding, and easy to work with! There were some amazing people who worked here at the time I was here. The families were very kind and I loved getting to know my residents.

Cons

There was a lot of unnecessary drama between coworkers. Some managers were hard to get along with. The job can be difficult and we were often understaffed.
