Pros

Very sweet residents, great coworkers, and generally an easy first job for experience.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. Management is awful, just awful. Full of blatant favoritism towards certain employees, with no repercussions for bad behavior if you were a "favorite." I had reported a lead server twice; first for verbally harassing female employees (shouting in the dining room while residents were in earshot) and secondly for racism. Absolutely nothing was done. HR is a joke. A person who works there has been accused of sexual assault multiple times, to the point where they're "not allowed" to work with the underaged servers, but it's not enforced. Pretty much all of the staff are teenagers, which makes the job fun but dramatic and obviously unsafe as this person is currently employed. Generally just an incredibly toxic work environment for all involved. It's sad, because the residents and coworkers were the best part of the job. The stress just wasn't worth it.

Thank you for providing a detailed review. There is a lot to address here. First and foremost, Touchmark’s mission and values drive everything we do every day, and we take any allegation of inappropriate behavior seriously. We respond quickly, as we did when a team member misbehaved. That individual no longer works at Touchmark. Touchmark has hired teens to serve residents meals in our dining rooms for decades. This practice provides job experience for them and builds positive relationships between the two generations. Individual perceptions are important. At the same time, the facts of a situation can be quite different. Here, two teenage teammates were having difficulty communicating. We called on Human Resources to support them and the broader team; this included a series of antibullying sessions for the high schoolers. All attended. Successfully working with others at Touchmark requires everyone to observe our values—Excellence, Teamwork, Hospitality, Integrity, and Compassion—and to be an Ally, Friend, and Giver to all. While we hope our community is a fulfilling place to work for all, we understand it’s not the perfect fit for everyone. We wish you all the best in your future employment endeavors.

Pros

They were willing to be flexible with my scheduling especially since I was in nursing school at the time. I worked in memory care and my direct manager was understanding, and easy to work with! There were some amazing people who worked here at the time I was here. The families were very kind and I loved getting to know my residents.

Cons

There was a lot of unnecessary drama between coworkers. Some managers were hard to get along with. The job can be difficult and we were often understaffed.
