Pros

Decent pay, clean and well kept community, and overall nice coworkers.

Cons

I can not list my job title as they will know who exactly I am and there will be repercussions. Favoritism in my department is at an all time high. I have brought these concerns both to my direct supervisor and their boss and have been met with a lot of push back. The overall tone which some staff is treated compared to others is downright abysmal and upper management up to the highest level refuse to address this. HR has been no help as they are friends with the common offender’s and if you are in lower level position they do not believe you. Multiple have left this year due to poor management, overworked, and significant issues from the top down. Yet Touchmark continues to move in residents at a rapid pace without regard to how this will affect staff already stretched thin. Touchmark markets itself as one of the best retirement communities in my area and from the outside it most certainly is. It’s pretty to look at, they have multiple events to cater to residents yet it’s all a facade hiding deep issues. That’s not even getting to that residents pay standard from 4,000 to upwards from 8,000 a month yet staff are paid barely above average for this area. Touchmark as a company refuses to call itself a corporation (the proper term to use for employees is central office) yet they make 120 million annually. Any company that makes100s of million of dollars is a corporation flat out. In conclusion, touchmark has many positives, those. positives are heavily outweighed most days by the massive negatives.

Pros

They were willing to be flexible with my scheduling especially since I was in nursing school at the time. I worked in memory care and my direct manager was understanding, and easy to work with! There were some amazing people who worked here at the time I was here. The families were very kind and I loved getting to know my residents.

Cons

There was a lot of unnecessary drama between coworkers. Some managers were hard to get along with. The job can be difficult and we were often understaffed.
