Pros

you build up a thick skin to rude customers quickly. 10% off any merchandise and 20% off on candy/snacks. friendly coworkers. constant work flow. you learn to be self effecient and quick at problem solving. gain better memory skills ( remembering where things go and which places they came from ). if you are not a minor you will get more hours. Seeing kids happy and saying hi to babies.

Cons

you are not protected by management from harassment by customers. be expected to work register alone ( being the only one open quite often ). despite how well you provide a positive attitude and help customers to the best of your abilities means nothing if you can not get "guests" to sign up for credit cards. management is rarely available to help you if there is an issue with a customer or an issue with their transaction. There is basically no training, you are expected to learn as you go. bathrooms are not great. bare minimum pay.

Pros

Best job ever, I was able to play with toys all the time. I usually stayed late to open boxes, and play, then I put them back in boxes like nothing happened and then go home, my wife always thought I was cheating because I was late, sometimes 3AM, but I just can't stop playing with toys, it was awesome.

Cons

My wife didn't like my job. She hated when I was late.
