Pros

A paycheck is the only reason to manage a location for them. The DM 's try to keep it together and try to help.

Cons

The hours you have to work with only cover approximately 50 - 60 percent of the work that is mandated from a clueless headquarters. The buying and merchandising groups seem to stumble every week. New plan o gram changes on categories that were literally changed only 1 to 3 weeks prior. That is in categories that are relatively stagnant compared to fashion retail. How often can the equine category change. Major seasonal changes are completely underestimated on the amount of time it takes to complete. Their customer base is aging and shrinking. They are incapable of growing their margins that are probably 5 to 10 percent lower than they should be for a specialty retail chain.

Pros

Great benefits, pay is manageable. The store bonuses are incredible. If you are a store manager anything lower it’s not any significance to a paycheck.

Cons

Long hours there is no work life balance. Depending on who your district manager is a lot of them are very unethical. When you do not follow what they say they will find a reason to fire you. The company itself was great, but it’s the people they hire.
