Pros
Flexible scheduling. Usually pays more than minimum wage at hire. Ability to transfer if you move. Potential monthly bonuses for team members if sales plan has been met. Variety in customer base.
Cons
Understaffing due to payroll. At the registers a team member often has to bombard customer with multiple questions at the same time ( item of the month, 4-H donations, tax exemption, zip code or telephone number) this often results in uncomfortable situations. If you are part time expect to be working national holidays ( labor day, July 4th). Old store locations in a state of disrepair often get a makeover rather than repaired.
