Pros

If you live the out here lifestyle, this is the company for you. The customer base is your neighbors and your co-workers share the same interest as you. There is plenty of opportunity for advancement, if you are willing to work hard for it. It's one of the fastest growing companies in the retail field. (swiped from another review because I couldn't have said it as well). I loved my job, my customers, and about 95% of the people I worked with.

Cons

Things have to change, and change soon. The payroll expectations are absolutely killing the team members from the top to the bottom. Some part-timers barely get 12-16 hrs a week (and mgr are strongly discouraged from hiring high school or college kids) and they (DMs and corporate) want only 5 full time people (2 team leads, a receiver, an ASM and the SM) everyone else is supposed to be part time in order for a store to be able to be staffed with enough people, which still isn't enough because you can't get the things you need to done in 4-5 hrs and provide the customer service the company expects. If you do happen to be considered full time it's 30 hrs, not 40... and you're expected to perform the work of a 40 hour week, while providing legendary customer service from 8 to 8. You must maintain an open schedule, so there's no room for a part-time job to supplement your income. Even the salaried manager is feeling the wrath of the lowered payroll. There's weeks the manager has to work 7 days, some open to close, just to meet payroll expectations. At the end of the day, the only people benefiting from this are executives and wealthy shareholders. Because of the workload, customers are often pushed aside for resets and freight. Also, expect to not receive much training and the training you do receive will be incomplete. If you are lucky and get a great DM who understands how the store runs and why things don't at times you can expect to be noticed and asked to take on more responsibility if you have proven yourself. If not, then you'll hear nothing but complaints about things not getting done and sees anything less than perfect as an excuse. The same with a store manager, there are great ones who are involved and the leadership and development of their team and there are those that want nothing more than to not do much other than accept praise that's due their team and won't ask for help when they need it. Oh.. and don't take anything your SM says as how things are done.. just because they say something is a certain way doesn't mean it's so.. and the higher ups won't care that the SM told you to it that way.. What they really mean is that it's ok to do it that way until something happens and then the responsibility is all on you..

Pros

Great benefits, pay is manageable. The store bonuses are incredible. If you are a store manager anything lower it’s not any significance to a paycheck.

Cons

Long hours there is no work life balance. Depending on who your district manager is a lot of them are very unethical. When you do not follow what they say they will find a reason to fire you. The company itself was great, but it’s the people they hire.
