Pros

I worked in the north wales location for a period of 2 years. The retail pay is superior to most other places, the insurance is top notch compared to its competition. They do have a system that works for organizing the store. The raises when they restructered, are far superior to many retail jobs at least during the time I was there until recently. You get to taste food ahead of time.

Cons

You have to be careful witht the store you go to. Many store are filled with hyper-progressive folks who are very difficult to work with. The store I worked in North wales had a very political presence, which made it difficult for adults who understand the seperation between work and politics. If you do not get along with the crew they utilize nasty, harassing tactics to drive you out. In the two years I was working there, anyone who wasnt white and progressive was driven out rapidely. I saw everything from setting people up for failure, to people snitching to try and dry people down. Unfortunately it negatively changed my view of the company if they allow employees to be nasty to each other due to racial and political differences. I saw many fellow hispanics struggle there, and saw how much they promoted diversity and inclusivity on the outside, but treated hispanic and african american employees with so much disrespect for the simple reason that they had good solid work ethic instead endless whining and complaining about things. Its a shame, because I saw good people leave because a bunch of miserable people dont like losing control over prepackaged groceries. The mates tried to stop it on some level, but many mates were not professional in thier employee/ leadership capacity, with many cases of obvious favorship, the captain was very ineffecient and incapable for the amount of time spent in leadership. This was clearly a case of someone who just stayed long enough and brownnosed long enough. The company is also taking many steps backwards, like removing many benefits and pay structures as I was leaving. They are definitely losing thier kaizen and starting to work like just another corporate hellhole. I warn anyone who is not exactly like the people who work there, be careful and maybe go somewhere where you are not the first minority many of these people are meeting. If you are good at your job, you wi make many enemies here. Go elsewhere until a restructure or serious change is done. Thank you for your time in reading this review.

Pros

-Great way to meet people, socialize, and learn customer service -Always tasked with different things every hour -Friendly crew who will always help you to learn and get better at your job -Get a slight pay raise every 6 months -No outside commitments and amazing benefits if you work full time (about 28 hours a week for every 6 months) -Will take time, but find your friend group, stay with them and have fun, you can't please everybody -Care for your body, do not overdo it with physical labor, its a retail job and you only have one fragile body for yourself, get help or insist about your pains

Cons

-Not many, unless you are stuck in a bad store with bad management -I had some good luck of working in 3 great stores, so YMMV -Sometimes can get cliquey like you are back in high school -Getting promoted up to store management may involve buttering up and being a "yes-person" -Care for your body, do not overdo it with physical labor, its a retail job and you only have one fragile body for yourself, get help or insist about your pains
