Pros

The real pros of this company are that, for a newcomer, its a great place to feel warm. You meet great, creative people, forming friendships you never knew you wanted. You get pretty decent benefits after a short period of time, and its a fun place to work. Not to mention, the pay is not bad at all for a young, part-time worker.

Cons

I have been with the company for 3 years now. Once you form a friendship with your coworkers and learn to love the idea of working at a truly unique grocery store, you start to see through the facade. The intentions of the company are great, but it really starts to feel shady after a while. Pay rates vary for the "lifers" and for full-time management in an unfair manner. I work, and have worked with some great people who do very little work (or none at all) for nearly twice what I make now, just because they have been there longer. The company also has a policy that, if you decide to transfer out of state, they wont match your pay to wherever it is you go. For example, if you move from a suburb of Virginia to New York City, you'll have three years worth of raises and decent pay in Virginia, but you'll get to New York and realize the employees who started yesterday make more than you, and the company will not adjust your pay, despite the time you have spent with the company.

Pros

This company really does care about its employees. There's a reason why people make a career out of their time here. It is the most fun job I've ever had. They hire amazing, hardworking people with great personalities. Management is always willing to help. Theres fun tastings of new products all the time. Customers are generally always in a good mood. The job is physically demanding, but I am in the best shape of my life lol. They schedule you to change what you're doing every hour, so the 8-hour day goes by fast.

Cons

They can definitely play favorites. The same people get the shifts that they want, and when you first start, you can get stuck closing for quite some time.
