Pros

Over the last couple of years Ingersoll Rand has really been listening to the results of their employee engagement survey and implementing changes that seem like it will be easier to grow and develop yourself professionally if you choose to. That's really encouraging considering in the past it was unclear where the opportunities for advancement were. From a benefits perspective, I think the health care is competitive and they offer great assistance programs like fitness reimbursement, free counseling, etc. It's also nice to be part of a company that cares about the environment and is making a commitment to overall it's product offerings to exceeded sustainability requirements.

Cons

There has been a lot of change in the organizational structure over the last few years as brands have been bought and sold, and there has been a lot of turnover in leadership making it hard to make progress on any one improvement strategy because that strategy is always changing. As with most companies, we're being asked to do more with less much more often. Work life balance is not always the best, depending on who you report to and how much they value their employees. Since Ingersoll Rand is so large, it often feels like the various departments are moving forward without considering their impact on each other and management is not working under a unified vision.

Pros

Headquarters in Davidson is a beautiful location with very nice offices. Culture is great, my team is very kind and willing to help me learn. There are a lot of other interns to make friends with, and the relocation bonus covered my whole summer rent.

Cons

Slow to onboard (acces/permissions to software) which causes the first 2 weeks to be very boring. Also occasional lack of any projects/work which leads to boredom
