Pros

Great training and opportunities Encourage work life balance ,- offer good resources for balance Great benefits and internal HR resources Commensurate compensation

Cons

Recent mandates regarding vaccines and being forced to disclose vaccination status and then next level forcing to upload vac card or threatening weekly testing despite everyone is WFH Disappointed in the company I worked for 20+ years has bowed to the government despite the obligation to defend their employees . CEO posted many supportive messages that they had employees back but at the end of the day they only protected themselves from penalities the government would impose. Disappointing that Travelers with amazing 2021 financial results and revenues decided to throw their employees under the bus to keep their revenues. Travelers traded equality for equity and drank the WOKE Kool aid.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
