Pros

benefits are decent, but could be better

Cons

Senior leadership does not listen to staff. The majority of staff has the ability to work from home, and prefers to work from home. Senior leadership knows this and continues to ignore the requests. They love to preach flexibility but it is not flexible at all. Work-life balance has suffered tremendously. They are fake. The culture is fake. Their presentations to us remind me of a toxic ex that tries to tell you how much they love you after using and abusing you. The company really needs to re-evaluate priorites. Also, I have been here for over 5 years, have had nothing but stellar mid year and year end reviews but have not gotten one decent bonus. It is very discouraging.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
