Pros

Starting pay and benefits are good.... PTO time is good but everything is rolled in vaca, sick, personal so it's very misleading, good place to start a career

Cons

Talk about being burnt out..... After a year you probably will be a nervous wreck and management doesn't care to help. Yes it's auto and yes it is busy but on top of that there is so many little things they want that have no bearing on how a claim is resolved like capturing email it's unbelievable and you are micromanaged to death... This place is fine to launch a career but you can not stay here your just a number and after a year you'll feel like your drowning which is why I left and couldn't be happier. Management has no clue what the front line forces go through... You though coming in on a Monday for any job was bad... Try working at this place. It's insurance... We're not superheroes

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
