Pros

The people on the floor are great! I worked with a great bunch of people that were like family. The people on the floor were the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

Cons

Management is terrible. If your UM doesn't like you, you'll get fired. The UM's are cliquey and childish. They will gig you on file reviews for something you've done the same way for years. There is no consistency. If you're tight with your UM, you're golden. You can spend all day on the Internet or have over 100 past due diaries and nothing is said. If not, you will get called out on anything and everything. Even if you follow procedures 100 %. It's all about which UM you work for. If you get put on a performance plan, consider yourself gone. There is no way your files will pass no matter what you do. The UM will find a reason to gig you. Even if they have to make up a reason. My UM was having an affair with another MARRIED UM and upper management knew about it and didn't care.

Pros

Timely communication from Talend acqisition team. Scheduling the interviews with detailed information was very helpful. The interviewers were warm and supportive which made the technical and behavioral interviews feel comfortable to answer. Great company culture and familiar faces made a full time return after 10 years as consultant is very exciting.

Cons

Room for improvement regarding response time after each interview rounds.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
