Pros
People in the plants are good people, it's the people in Oak Brook you can't trust; especially HR, Division Teams including the presidents, and Commercial Leadership. HR has been on a power trip for quite some time: manipulating situations to skew ranks and scores for certain employees during reviews; suppressing pay for lower end workers when and where they can. Division culture created a a CYA environment and blame pushing is an everyday event. "Minimum Viable Product" is the status quo on how things are run. Think shoe-string budget, duct tape and bailing wire on managing things...then look at the compensation of the C-suite. These are the pros.
Cons
Senior Leadership don't really care about the employees. Disingenuous and token gestures each year with platitudes coming from the "Smuckers Light" team are status quo. They put an ex-Walmart person on the board that seems to have a penchant for revenge with his former employer. Diversity, equity and inclusion efforts have done the opposite of what they intend to do by focusing layoffs based on the color of skin rather than intelligence, skills to run a business, and knowledge of the categories. One look at the Strategy team and one might think it was outsourced to Delhi.
