Pros
Sales competitions with nice bonuses. Got to be outside and independent. Base pay plus commission. The coworkers were all hard workers.
Cons
Hours weren't set. You were done when they said you were done. You worked a full day and had plans after work? Keep working until we say you are off. Working 6 days a week was fairly common. Little to no guidance from management. Management just wanted sales and didn't care about no-solicitation laws or private neighborhood rules. One time a few salesmen and myself were sent to a private neighborhood community that had one enter entrance and a sign that said "No soliciting." We told management, but they just told us to work it anyway. We as salesmen were followed by residents and folks threatened to call the cops on us multiple times before we were allowed to leave. Another time we were sent an hour away to a town that we did not have a license to be conducting business in. The police sent us to City Hall to try to get permits. We waited around half the day before going to a neighboring city to work there instead. Door-to-door routes were pulled from Google maps without any further investigation. A few times I was sent out to neighborhoods still under construction with no one living in the houses. Another time I was sent an hour out of my way to a street that was pretty secluded that had 3 houses on it... and no one was home. Worst company I've ever worked for, by far.
