Pros

You get paid. And it's more than minimum wage.

Cons

Long hours, and they nickle and dime you wherever they can. Commission based pay (Which is better than hourly if you're experienced and not lazy...). For all the new people in the industry they'll be lucky to make minimum wage. Lots of "free" things you're expected to do. Call backs, meetings, drive time, truck setup. You'll waste on average 2-3 hours a day not getting paid with the commission setup. Contract is based on a 5 day work week, with 6th being a bonus. (10% when I worked there). But skip a Saturday (even when your production goals are met and your week is "DONE") and your pay is slashed by 15-20% due to "missing a day". It's all about revenue and production. Upper management will flat out lie and BS you. They will work you into the ground without batting an eyelash. Massive turnover (over 330 new employees to fill 30 positions the first year I worked for them). Well over 200+ the second year I was there. They'll also force you to break quite a few laws set down from the Ministry Of The Environment. Quite hefty fines to you (the technician/exterminator) if you're caught 'doing what you're told'. Probably why they went from 25,000 customers in 2006, to 16,000 by 2012... :)

Pros

- Very very easy to move up in the company. If you dedicate a couple years and show skill in sales you can move up to a sales manager position extremely fast. If you are willing to move the opportunity to move up is even significantly easier and faster. - Almost all of management started at the bottom and worked their way up, if possible they always hire from within. - Good money, get out what you put in. - Direct Management is great, local and even regional management is almost even fantastic, but any higher then that becomes out of touch and very frustrating to (albeit indirectly) work with.

Cons

- Inconsistent at times about expectations, at times asking for one thing then immediately needing the other. Can be frustrated to be pulled in so many directions, but not even remotely unmanageable. - Lot's of hours, especially in management. Prime time? (March-End of May) Say goodbye to your personal life! Mandatory 1/2 day Saturdays, definitely a grind but worth it. - Frustrating policies and illogical outlook on what success looks like.
