Pros

From February-August is a good time for paychecks For young guys, you can make more money than the average job

Cons

Painfully micromanaged. Either your Marketing Manager or someone else is always jumping down your throat. Many things are hidden from you. For example, when I started I was told this was door to door with some calling. i was told I would get a gas card with such and such commission percentages. The money was made out to be a really important thing. However, they fail to let you know that when August and September hit, you will either be A. pulled in to call expanded services at 1/10 of your possible commission percentages which will then make you hourly and they will pay you chinese overtime and take away your gas card. B. Get laid off and told that they will hire you back in the spring when business picks up. or C. Stay at door to door (easily the best choice) and sell at a time of the year when business is way down. While I cant speak for all, and I have heard stories, I can say that many marketing managers in Trugreen are degrading and disrespectful to their employees. The "Do Right" model that Servicemaster employs is apparentally not involved here. The hrs are long and the compensation/praise you get for hard work is minimal. If you have a family, DO NOT I repeat...DO NOT take this job. You will never see your kids and will have very little time for your wife. You'll generally work six days a week 10 hrs a day (6 or so on saturdays).
