Pros

Working Outdoors, Being on Route dealing with the same clientele. Working independently Great Team and working environment Gain Knowledge on different types of Turfgrass, trees, shrubs, pests, seasonal turf diseases, etc. Builds character as a lot of people give up after a week or two, it is a good place for Students to work looking to gain some money and knowledge seasonally. and toughen up a bit Great place to work for a few years, after that you are replaceable.

Cons

NO OVERTIME - (Employers of landscape gardeners are exempt from the requirement to pay overtime) Low Chance of promotion due to some people being in management per branch for a long time. Seasonal Work 60-70 hour work weeks During Peak Season (No work-life balance) Brutal workloads Stagnant Wages (6-day work weeks) Upper management doesn't care just want to squeeze production out of you like slaves. Since new upper management took over. Repetitive Motion, a high chance of injury or sprain. Old faulty equipment, management doesn't want to put money into improving their products. Benefits only work while you are working, if you want benefits over the winter you need to deduct money from your pay in order to receive coverage. The company constantly talks about the TruGreen family, which is the biggest red flag in a business. Regardless of how much you know or how much experience you have, you are replaceable by a student who knows nothing and will work for a few dollars less then you.

Pros

- Very very easy to move up in the company. If you dedicate a couple years and show skill in sales you can move up to a sales manager position extremely fast. If you are willing to move the opportunity to move up is even significantly easier and faster. - Almost all of management started at the bottom and worked their way up, if possible they always hire from within. - Good money, get out what you put in. - Direct Management is great, local and even regional management is almost even fantastic, but any higher then that becomes out of touch and very frustrating to (albeit indirectly) work with.

Cons

- Inconsistent at times about expectations, at times asking for one thing then immediately needing the other. Can be frustrated to be pulled in so many directions, but not even remotely unmanageable. - Lot's of hours, especially in management. Prime time? (March-End of May) Say goodbye to your personal life! Mandatory 1/2 day Saturdays, definitely a grind but worth it. - Frustrating policies and illogical outlook on what success looks like.
