Pros

It used to be a good place to work - not anymore and the recession is not to blame!

Cons

When I joined the company, the stock was $25/share Now, 3 CEOs, 7 CFOs, numerous heads of product later, it's around $2 and it saw even lower days. TrueCar is a company of chance - change of senior leadership switching directions 180 degrees every time it happens. Lots of projects are being executive will driven rather than data driven. Product managers barely communicate to each other. It was getting more and more toxic by the day. Also, their pay is a joke.

Thank you for leaving a review. The changes within TrueCar’s stock prices have been something that executive leadership has candidly discussed with employees during our monthly all-hands meetings. We’ve been working to address this in our updated company vision and our specific one and three-year plans. We have clear goals set and specific teams and employees accountable for helping us meet them. We believe that 2024 will be an exciting time for change and transformation, and the goals that we have set will help us move the company forward and, in the end, our stock prices as well. TrueCar conducts a biannual review of job benchmarks and market pay data from different compensation sources to ensure we pay our employees fairly and competitively. We pride ourselves on providing competitive compensation along with great benefits for employees. We are excited about the direction and the future of TrueCar!

Pros

Great Benefits & Remote Work

Cons

No matter how hard you work, there’s no recognition or pay increase. I wouldn’t recommend using the open-door policy if you have concerns about a manager. I raised an ongoing issue and ended up being written up based on claims that I wasn’t completing my work, even though I was following instructions. When layoffs happened, I was unfortunately among the first to be let go. It felt like a real slap in the face after all the time and commitment I gave to the company.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for the contributions you made during your time with the company. We’re pleased to hear that you valued our benefits package and remote work flexibility, both of which remain important components of our employee experience. We take feedback regarding recognition and our open-door policy seriously. TrueCar is committed to maintaining a workplace where employees can safely raise concerns and where all issues are reviewed fairly and objectively. While organizational changes and employment decisions are driven by broader business considerations, we understand that these transitions are difficult. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
