The 'idea' of what the company does - or the value it would provide a consumer (or the car dealer - the one paying for it) has eroded dramatically over the years. To the point where there really isn't much reason for TrueCar to exist at all.
Consumers have better & more effective ways to buy at a good price, and dealers have better & more effective ways to get there cars in front of them.
Its not that anything TrueCar is doing is wrong - its just an outdated model. Like going to work for Blockbuster renting videos... why would anyone want that? Its actively failing in front of their eyes.
Aside from that, the ELT is very focused on cutting costs & efficiency - at the expense of growth, employee development, customer satisfaction, etc. The classic model of cutting 4 of the 5 people in a department & asking the 5th to do all the work (with no more money & no reduction in expectations) is all over every department here... TrueCar may not have invented it, but they've sure done it enough to perfect it. This is NOT a place to work if you want a semblance of WLB, or to feel fairly compensated for the work you do.
The employees that still care (myself included) are all interviewing to go somewhere they feel less exploited - if you're coming in.... expect to be in a tricky spot
