Pros

Former Employee – worked at Tutor Doctor as a contractor for less than a year Tutor Doctor connects you with students, but the pros stop there!

Cons

Way too much paperwork, almost all of which is unnecessary. Their online submission of hours worked doesn't make any sense and takes way too much time to complete (which of course you are not paid for). . They take way too much money off the top - the clients pay at least 3x what tutors receive as wages. There is also no additional compensation if you are a certified teacher who is looking to pick up extra work. Your pay is exactly the same as any other tutor. Their rule about always having parents home for students up to 18 years of age is also ridiculous. Understandable for children, but students 16+ should be able to be unsupervised. No compensation for drive time. They also call you constantly (from an "unknown" number) and make every phone call sound urgent, and they treat you like if you're not tutoring at that moment, you must not have anything else to do. Very rude. Very unhelpful

Pros

Not having to find clients. Setting my own schedule. Having access to non-local clients.

Cons

Rearranging schedules for clients when life get is the way. Having to fill hours in with a working adult sometimes will cause a headache. Also, working outside your area can be technologically tricky on the websites backend SO make sure that the local managers know the procedure,
