Pros

You develop great relationships with the kids you tutor and their families. You are not micro-managed. The company owners support you if you need it.

Cons

You do a lot of outside work that requires time: prep lessons, drive to the clients' homes, submit comments online. You are barely making anything when you calculate that into the money you make for tutoring.

Pros

Not having to find clients. Setting my own schedule. Having access to non-local clients.

Cons

Rearranging schedules for clients when life get is the way. Having to fill hours in with a working adult sometimes will cause a headache. Also, working outside your area can be technologically tricky on the websites backend SO make sure that the local managers know the procedure,
