Pros

There are efforts to keep the atmosphere fun and interesting. Fun activities for the employees, beautiful buildings, free drinks, a relaxed dress code and a seemingly relaxed atmosphere. My co-workers are smart, pleasant and interesting. Tyler is a company that wants to do the right things.

Cons

1. One word: management. The tendency is to promote people because they are well-liked by upper management. This is often done without regard to whether these people are truly good at their jobs or whether they are good managers. Many of the managers lack basic people or managerial skills. I have seen them handle issues in ways that would shock experienced, trained managers. There also is the strong appearance of having to fit the mold to even be considered. You will need to be a white male and either single or completely willing to have work as a priority over your family. If you are female, make sure that you have no children (and no plans for children), old children or a live-in nanny (by the way, your salary won't be enough to cover the cost of said live-in nanny so, also make sure that you have a rich spouse or some sort of trust fund). 2. They will talk to you about the training. It just isn't enough. Many of the positions require in-depth knowledge that you just will not receive from the training. You will be thrown out there to sink or swim. This works for some of us but, it is far more stressful than it really needs to be. The unfortunate atmosphere created by the fact that nobody is well-trained is that once people have the knowledge, they don't share it. As previously mentioned, your manager will not be able to help because they don't have the knowledge, either. Other departments are too busy or just unwilling to help. 3. The above two factors create the over all "speeding bus" atmosphere. You will get pushed under the bus, repeatedly and without fail. The people on your team will do it, the people on other teams will do it. Everyone is so scared of what will happen if they make a perceived mistake (which is bound to happen with the lack of adequate training), they will throw the blame to someone else. It is an atmosphere of fear of management, because management often makes wacky, poor or just plain wrong decisions.
