Pros

It is a fast paced environment with many different customers. It keeps you busy. The in store branches are nice because red bulls and subs are right near your branch.

Cons

You are not properly rewarded for all of the business you bring to US Bank. Also, there is obvious unfair treatment towards individuals who sell more credit cards, bank accounts and so on. There is a point system rather than a comission on selling home equity lines and loans. Employees needed too many points to get any reward at all. This was very upsetting when you are making the company a lot of money and not receiving anything for your work. The overdraft system of charging customers 7 dollars a day when they are negative makes it very difficult to talk with customers as well, because they are always upset after being overdrafted.

Pros

The pay is market average, and the benefits are quite good. I love my peers. The vast majority of them are kind and talented people. I truly enjoyed my first several years with the company. Well past the honeymoon period for a new employer. And at the time, I recommended this place to anyone I knew looking for a job.

Cons

Management is a mess from the bottom up. The culture of the company has drastically changed over the last several years because of frequent retirements, layoffs, and reorganizations. Employees I know from across describe the same experience: the company has gone from outstanding culture to one that feels openly hostile to its employees. Management decisions are built like cudgels and enforced through all stick and no carrot.
