Pros

Hybrid and remote positions can provide good work life balance if you can find one of those positions available.

Cons

Senior leadership talks about how much they value their employees but in reality you are just a number. In the last 12 months the positions of more than 250 long time, valuable employees have been eliminated. Employees who have been committed and loyal for more than 20 years were shown no loyalty from USB in return when their positions were eliminated to make way for employees coming on from a recent acquisition/merger. Many of the individuals that were let go were key people in various business lines. The ones you counted on for training and guidance. There is no formal training at USB in many areas so you have to rely on the expertise of your peers. It will take time for the bank to recover from the amount of experience they lost. Many who are still here no longer feel their jobs are secure. Constant changes to processes and procedures are made and often times these changes are released too soon with minimal training.

Pros

None. I'd rather fear eviction than work here one more day.

Cons

I have never experienced a more mis-aligned company that has so many people "performing" work in non-stop back to back meetings. Forget thinking! Who needs it! Now with AI and the use of copilot, every meeting has turned into back to back AI slop notes. No one pays attention, there are no breaks for lunch, coffee, or even ability to get to know your colleagues. I have never met a group of stupider, meaner humans who literally don't even care if work gets done right - just whether it looks like you're working. RTO is a joke. They don't value themselves, professionalism, or human life. It's the most obscene place I've ever worked, and I would much rather return to working at Amazon with 100 plus hour work weeks than one more day at this hell hole.
