Pros

4 weeks vacation to start, can buy a 5th week. Bank holidays

Cons

-Senior leadership is disorganized, communicates poorly. -CEO is unkind, mean to employees. -The bank's internal employee survey, Talk to Us, tells leadership that employees are very unhappy, but leadership doesn't care. Bank scores are low for the industry, low across companies of the same size, and at record lows for the company. CEO says everything is great. -The internal bureaucracy is so painful that it almost seems intentional. -In my area of the bank, I see them make the same mistakes over and over again. Nobody cares; employees are just incompetently marking time. -Management is cutting costs because they are worried about being taken over. But really, that would be for the best.

Pros

The pay is market average, and the benefits are quite good. I love my peers. The vast majority of them are kind and talented people. I truly enjoyed my first several years with the company. Well past the honeymoon period for a new employer. And at the time, I recommended this place to anyone I knew looking for a job.

Cons

Management is a mess from the bottom up. The culture of the company has drastically changed over the last several years because of frequent retirements, layoffs, and reorganizations. Employees I know from across describe the same experience: the company has gone from outstanding culture to one that feels openly hostile to its employees. Management decisions are built like cudgels and enforced through all stick and no carrot.
