Business Outlook
Pros
UBS has a truly global organisation, which reduces internal fights and makes it easier to get new initiatives off the ground. The benefits system is good. Work-life balance is pretty reasonable for an investment bank: there is no long-hours culture for example.
Cons
UBS seems to be retreating into its shell following bad performance over the last recession. Mangement commitment to investment banking is questionable, and many business areas have been shut down or de-scoped. Staff are under continual pressure to justify their positions and re-organisations are frequent.
