Pros
A great environment to do research. Professors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Some professors will treat you more like a colleague than a student.
Cons
Some professors do micromanage, so make sure to talk to graduate students in their labs. Some graduate students are treated like cheap labor and are not even given a fair salary compared to other graduate students.
