Pros

The differentials are good, the benefits are competitive. Uchealth is a nice hospital, working for the hospital would be more adviseable, upgrades were very long overdue but the finished product is impressive.

Cons

An unbelievable amount of micromanagement is business as usual. There were at times 3 supervisory crews working and responding to calls with only 4 actual crews in rotation. 3 crews supervising 4 crews, ridiculous. Pay is ok, but not at all liveable for the area, good luck affording a trailer within city limits. The city is growing rapidly, but the man power on the streets is stagnant, leaving everyone overworked. It's not uncommon at all to be dispatched before checking a truck and burned at the end of shift every day of the week. The homeless population make up roughly 25% of calls, more at night, and these are violent career transients, for the most part. If you enjoy fighting piss-soaked transients on nights and weekends for less than a liveable wage, all while being micromanaged (even if you're very experienced ), this is the service for you. I need to mention the facilities, or lack thereof. 16 ambulances packed into one designed for 8, but you need to be ready to respond to calls even if you're parked in by multiple vehicles. Crew quarters are gross, tiny, or non existent where they should be. Sitting in parking lots will take up a large chunk of time.

Pros

I absolutely loved volunteering here. The program was organized, and it made me so happy to bring a smile to people's faces.

Cons

Sometimes we did not have much contact with the heads of the volunteer program.

Pros

None that I can possibly share. This is by far the worst place I've ever worked for and I absolutely regret applying here. Save yourself, don't apply, don't stay long.

Cons

Revolving door in every department. HR is a disaster. People are underpaid and burned out. UCHealth spreads like a parasite in Colorado by purchasing hospitals, underpaying employees, and not competing with pricing. Worst yet, it does not pay taxes at Coloradan's expense. DORA and UCHealth are supported by the state and if you are discriminated you will find no justice. Absolute corruption. They need to be audited and penalized by the state more often for many reasons.
