Pros

Wonderful nurses and staff team work.

Cons

I have worked for University of Colorado Hospital for more than 20 years as a Medical-Surgical Nurse. Everything changed when UCH became invisible under the umbrella of UCHealth. They pushed out the best management this hospital ever had. Bruce Schroffel actually cared about the staff. The new administration supposedly did this at University of Pittsburgh too. Now the focus is on growth and finances. There are not enough nurses and not enough staff to help the nurses. It seems like it is now all new grads and nobody like me with experience. If you are admitted here as a patient, you are likely to fall because the staff can't get to you quickly enough. It used to be that nurse stayed here for a long time until they retired. Now we have a rotating door and mostly new grads.I get called to come in every day that I am off. because of too many patients. I have no privacy away from work. I'm leaving and going to Denver Health where they have reasonable nurse patient ratios and a supportive management. I'm also making more money there and I can continue to contribute to my 401K. They may not be a Magnet hospital, but I no longer believe in Magnet hospitals after the last few years.......

Pros

I absolutely loved volunteering here. The program was organized, and it made me so happy to bring a smile to people's faces.

Cons

Sometimes we did not have much contact with the heads of the volunteer program.

Pros

None that I can possibly share. This is by far the worst place I've ever worked for and I absolutely regret applying here. Save yourself, don't apply, don't stay long.

Cons

Revolving door in every department. HR is a disaster. People are underpaid and burned out. UCHealth spreads like a parasite in Colorado by purchasing hospitals, underpaying employees, and not competing with pricing. Worst yet, it does not pay taxes at Coloradan's expense. DORA and UCHealth are supported by the state and if you are discriminated you will find no justice. Absolute corruption. They need to be audited and penalized by the state more often for many reasons.
