Pros

A large university with many resources for researchers. A number of laboratories are open to collaborations or helping you out on a project. You just have to find the right people to ask. There is an office of postdoctoral affairs and a postdoctoral scholars group that try to improve the situation of postdocs and hold social gatherings.

Cons

The postdoctoral experience depends entirely on the professor you work for. If you get along well or you have similar ideas about the direction of your research your experience will be good, but if that is not the case then you might have a miserable experience. It can be hard to switch professors. This is the case at any university, but I would recommend you look for a department with a number of professors working in your field, so that are at least some other options if things don't work out so well

Cons

Sometimes, other students don't take your full shift and leave like 30 mins of your shift if you give it up

The Peer Learning Unit is poorly managed, and it is difficult to communicate with your supervisors.
