Pros

Will get promoted if you work hard. Working from home was an option even before the pandemic. Desk job so the work isn't laborious. Get to listen to music while you work. 10% salary bonus if the company meets its overall goal.

Cons

They will ask you and even pester you to work overtime, over the weekends and on holidays at every opportunity and ask people to do so in group settings hoping you will feel guilty for not working if some of your colleagues say they will work. Decided to implement new software but provided little to no training on it and refused to hire any people to help with problems with it or training despite continued problems. Pay increases are minimal, the only way you can a raise worth mentioning is by promotion and they overall pay way less than what they should despite increasing your workload to near or actual unmanagable levels while asking you why things are so behind or late.

Pros

The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.

Cons

It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
