Pros

Flex Time is great and most managers let you work from home whenever you wish and engineering almost never has to be in the office during Covid. The facilities are also great.

Cons

Workload is your workload alone and although everything requires additional signatures and reviews, older coworkers are resistant to provide assistance based on workload and weird work environment that gives engineers a "sales goal" so they do not like working on things that don't add to their bottom line. A lot of middle management rises to their positions based solely off of tenure and are not value adding members of the team.

Pros

The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.

Cons

It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
