Pros

UNC Health offers great benefits of course with the health insurance, including food stipend for RDs, and exposure to all the resources of a large medical institution. I will say that most of the people who worked there were great, just not the people selected for leadership

Cons

UNC Health is not good at selecting its leaders. Regularly the people in power to make positive change and address issues chose not to. I was particularly passionate about serving LGBTQ patients since UNC doesn't really do much for them. I got regularly reprimanded and told that was out of scope and not within the departmental policy. I warn all LGBTQ people working here. They also regularly underpay people and expect them to work more than 40 hours.

Good Old-boys club, MD-centric, slow to change, slow to compete, unable to invest in talent due to rigid state-based employment culture and rules
