Pros
The daughter of the CEO of UPMC used to run the place so she couldn't do any things wrong. Nobody watched costs or performance too closely. She was well connected and highly promoted in the media. They have a few products in production that flow cash with little labor required.
Cons
Daughter of CEO eventually did _something_ so wrong that dad did have to let her go (resigned with considerable kinetic energy shall we say). A good case study in why nepotism is avoided in modern organizations. Not a lot of fact based decision making. High turnover. Bring in almost all H1Bs and contractors to fill staffing shortfalls. 4th re-org in 12 months was just announced. 3rd President in 12 months. Almost of management has been brought in from outside. Little true promotion from within. Most candidates for promotions have been hired off into local software marketplace. "Open Seating" office format makes concentration difficult. Overcrowding has desks in aisles and 2-3 people in each executive office.
