Benefits, although shrinking, are still a major selling point. The hours can be exhausting, but the pride in serving is very rewarding.
Cons
Unpredictable duty hours, very stressful on families, policies that are ever changing, and decreasing budgets without decreasing the workload. Manpower cuts causing pain.
