Pros
Great benifits package, and great opportunity for education and promotion. You will get the chance to go places and see things you will not get to see in any other industry.
Cons
The pay is not the best in the world and the hours are not always the greatest (sometime you will work 12 hour shifts without a choice). There will be times when you will be required to leave your family for 6+ months at a time to be in a dangerous place.
