Pros

Health insurance benefits and options to include dental and vision Separate sick leave and annual leave accrual TSP (Government 401K) option Retirement

Cons

Political environment, not what you know versus who you know. Management is more concerned about numbers instead of quality of investigations. Certain career fields have no upward mobility due to lack of positions available. Working hard to make a system or process better doesn't matter - just do what you're told and don't rock the boat. Mediocre employees are retained and the hard workers do 90% of what is needed. Research "federal employee viewpoint survey" results to see the numbers, this agency is one of the lowest in the federal sector. Can be very "cliquish" -- if you're not in the "in" group you will be looked down upon.
