Pros

Good pay and benefits. Job security. If you're looking for these three. Law Enforcement environment. Good relationships built.

Cons

Work satisfaction has been rated low for years. Constant changes in government policy will make it hard on you on the long run. You may be very active for certain amount of years and suddenly go to 0 miles for a couple more. If you use your sick leave or take a long vacation, expect your salary to drop for a few months (due to calculations for a "special type of premium pay called AUO which does not excludes the days you take from leave to it's quarterly calculation) AUO goes from 10 to 25% of your base pay and is based on an average of 18.5 hrs worked every two weeks (to r max at 25%). Many angry people due to politics, instead of focusing in whatever your mission is as a public servant.
